Is the Ariens Deluxe 28 SHO worth it?

For long driveways and heavy snow, yes. The 28-inch width, 301cc engine and Auto-Turn steering handle big storms well. For small driveways, a lighter single-stage or smaller two-stage model costs less and stores easier.

How does it compare with the standard Deluxe 28?

The SHO version uses a larger 301cc engine for more throwing power in wet, heavy snow. The standard Deluxe 28 has a smaller engine and less torque. Both share the 28-inch width, 21-inch intake and Auto-Turn steering.

Does it have electric start?

Yes. It has electric start plus a manual recoil backup, and the key is included. Plug it in for cold starts, then switch to the cord-free recoil if needed.

How much snow can it throw?

Ariens rates it at 62 to 72 tons per hour with a throw distance up to 50 inches. Real output depends on snow type, engine speed and chute setting.

The blower, user manual and key. Fuel, oil and any extra chute accessories are not included, so plan for those before the first storm.

Best new pricing was $1,649.00 at The Home Depot as of November 3, 2026. Snow blowers tend to discount in late winter and early spring, so watch prices then.
