Is the Balsam Hill Flip Tree worth $1,149?

It is worth it if setup time and a full, realistic look matter more than cost. If you want a budget tree, cheaper hinged models do the same job for far less.

How does the flip tree setup work?

The tree comes in two sections. The lower half flips up into place and the top section drops in, so you avoid assembling and lighting branch by branch.

Can the lights twinkle or dim?

No. The 750 clear LEDs are all on or all off only, with no twinkle, dimming or multi-function controller.

What height ceiling does a 6.5 ft tree need?

Plan for at least 8 ft of ceiling so a topper fits. The 6.5 ft measurement is the tree itself, before a star or angel.

Does it come with a stand and storage bag?

Balsam Hill trees typically include a stand, and flip trees usually ship with a storage bag for the sections. Confirm the box contents at checkout.

When is the best time to buy it?

Balsam Hill discounts trees most around early November and after Christmas. At $1,149 as of November 5, 2026, it is at full price, so watch for seasonal markdowns.

Our take on the Balsam Hill Balsam Fir Flip Tree Artificial Christmas Tree

The Balsam Hill Balsam Fir Flip Tree is a 6.5 ft artificial Christmas tree with 750 clear LED lights and a two-piece flip design that lets the lower section fold up for storage. The Balsam Fir look is Balsam Hill's fullest, most traditional silhouette, aimed at living rooms and family spaces. It is pre-lit with all-on/all-off control only, no twinkle setting. At $1,149 at Balsam Hill as of November 5, 2026, it sits at the top of the brand's price ladder, so it is a long-term purchase rather than a budget pick.
