Is the ProHeat 2X Revolution worth it over renting a carpet cleaner?

If you clean carpet more than once or twice a year, buying usually costs less than repeated rentals. It also lets you clean on your schedule and keep the machine for pet accidents.

How does it compare with the ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet Pro?

The Pet Pro adds a stronger pet tool and more pet-focused accessories. The standard Revolution covers most homes and costs less; choose the Pet Pro if you have heavy pet messes.

Does it work on hard floors and stairs?

It is built for carpet and rugs, not bare hard floors. The hose and Tough Stain tool handle stairs and upholstery.

How long does carpet take to dry?

Expect several hours, often longer in humid weather or thick carpet. Extra dry passes with the machine help.

What comes in the box?

The machine, a 3-inch Tough Stain Tool, a Pet Stain Tool, an accessory bag, and 8 oz trial bottles of ProMax Clean & Protect and Deep Clean + Antibacterial formulas.

Our take on the Bissell ProHeat 2X Revolution

The Bissell ProHeat 2X Revolution is a full-size upright carpet cleaner for deep cleaning wall-to-wall carpet and rugs at home. It pairs two motorized DirtLifter brushes with HeatWave heated-air technology and holds a gallon of solution, and Bissell claims it outcleans the leading rental machine at about half the rental's weight. The low-profile foot slides under and around furniture. At $237.97 at The Home Depot as of November 4, 2026, it sits at the low end of its recent range, with only two stores listing it new.
