Our take on the BTF-Lighting FCOB Ultra Bright Dimmable LED Strip

The BTF-Lighting FCOB Ultra Bright Dimmable LED Strip is a flexible COB (chip-on-board) light strip in warm white, sold in a compact 15 x 15 x 1.5 cm spool. Unlike standard LED strips, COB design packs the diodes densely so the light reads as one continuous line with no visible dots, and it is dimmable when paired with a suitable dimmer or controller. It is a bare strip, so a power supply and dimmer are bought separately. No current price was supplied for this listing, so check the latest best price against its recent range before buying.

Questions and answers

Is this strip worth it over a standard LED strip?
Yes if you want a seamless line of light. COB strips cost more than basic SMD strips but remove the visible dots, which matters under cabinets and in coves.
What do I need to make it work?
A compatible 12V or 24V DC power supply and a dimmer or controller rated for the strip's wattage. Neither is included, so budget for them.
Can I cut it to length?
Yes, but only at the marked cut points. Cutting elsewhere breaks the circuit and that section will not light.
How bright is it and how much power does it draw?
It is marketed as ultra bright, and COB strips typically draw more per meter than standard strips. Match your power supply to the strip's rated wattage with some headroom.
Is it dimmable with any dimmer?
Only with a dimmer or controller compatible with the strip's voltage and current. A standard wall dimmer alone will not work on a DC strip.
When is the price lowest?
LED strip prices tend to dip during seasonal sales and when a listing runs a coupon. Compare the current price with its recent range before buying.
What do buyers say about the BTF-Lighting FCOB Ultra Bright Dimmable LED Strip?
Rated 4.8 out of 5 from 5 ratings.
