Our take on the Callaway Mavrik Fairway Wood

The Callaway Mavrik is a fairway wood from Callaway's 2020 Mavrik line, built with a forged steel face and a shallow, low-profile head that helps get the ball airborne from the turf. This listing is the left-handed men's model with a stiff shaft in the steel colorway. At $121.99 at Walmart as of November 4, 2026, it sits well below what the Mavrik line sold for at launch, though it is a previous-generation club now that Callaway has moved on to newer families.

Best forLeft-handed golfers with stiff-shaft swing speedsPlayers who want a forgiving 3- or 5-wood off the fairwayBudget shoppers buying a prior-generation Callaway headGolfers filling a gap between driver and irons
Pros
  • Forged steel face gives a lively, hot feel on center strikes
  • Shallow face and low profile make it easy to launch off the turf
  • Neutral-to-draw bias suits most mid-handicap swings
  • Stiff shaft fits faster swing speeds out of the box
  • At $121.99 it costs far less than current-year fairway woods
Cons
  • Previous-generation model, so no adjustable hosel or sliding weights
  • Left-handed stiff only; other flexes and right-hand stock vary
  • Steel colorway is plain compared with newer finishes
  • Stock shaft is not a premium aftermarket option
