Questions and answers

Is the XT1 LT42 worth it?
For a flat to gently sloped lawn up to about 2 acres, yes. It gives you a 42-inch cut and hydrostatic drive at $1,109.30 at Cool Gas Depot as of November 4, 2026. Steep hills are better served by a garden tractor with more traction.
How does it compare with the XT1 LT46?
The LT46 has a wider 46-inch deck and cuts large lawns faster. The LT42 is narrower, fits tighter gates and costs less. Pick the LT42 for smaller or obstacle-heavy yards.
What is the turning radius?
16 inches, which is tight for a lawn tractor. It helps around trees and beds but is not zero-turn.
Does it have cruise control?
Yes. Cruise control holds your ground speed on long straight passes, which is useful on open lawns.
What is included with the mower?
The tractor ships with its 42-inch deck and engine as sold by the store. Check the listing for bagger, mulch kit or hitch, since those are usually separate attachments.
When is it cheapest?
Lawn tractors usually drop in late summer and fall as stores clear seasonal stock. The current best is $1,109.30 at Cool Gas Depot as of November 4, 2026; compare the other 4 stores before buying.
