Questions and answers

Is the XT2 LX42 worth it over a smaller tractor?
If your lawn is close to an acre or more, the 42-inch deck and 20 HP twin engine cut mowing time noticeably. For small, flat lots a cheaper single-cylinder tractor will do.
Does it mulch or side discharge?
Mulching is an optional extra, and side discharge is not listed. As sold, plan on bagging with the included clipping bag or buying the mulch kit.
What lawn size is it built for?
Cub Cadet rates it for up to 4 acres. The hydrostatic drive and cruise control make long, open passes less tiring.
How low and high does it cut?
Cutting height runs from 25 mm to 100 mm across 12 positions, so it handles both a short summer cut and a taller fall cut.
What comes in the box?
The tractor, the 42-inch deck, the bagging setup and a 12V battery are included. The mulch kit is not.
When is the price lowest?
Lawn tractors usually discount in late fall and winter, outside mowing season. The current best is $3,049 at Ball Equipment of Richmond as of November 4, 2026.
Where is the Cub Cadet XT2 LX42 Lawn Tractor cheapest?
At Ball Equipment of Richmond, for $3,049.00, as of our latest check.
