Is the HT-3000 worth it for a large basement?

Yes, if the space is large and you have a proper chimney. Its 3.5 cu ft firebox puts out enough heat for a big finished basement, and the non-catalytic design keeps maintenance simple.

How does it compare with a catalytic stove?

The HT-3000 meets EPA limits without a catalytic combustor, so there is no expensive catalyst to replace. Catalytic stoves can burn cleaner and more efficiently at low settings, but they need more care.

What is the fresh air intake kit for?

It brings combustion air from outside instead of pulling it from the room. That helps in tight, well-insulated homes and reduces drafts near the stove.

What size logs does it take?

The large firebox accepts long logs, typically around 20 inches, loaded front to back. Check the manual for the exact maximum before cutting wood.

The stove and the fresh air intake kit. Chimney pipe, hearth pad and installation hardware are sold separately.

Wood stoves usually drop in price in spring and early summer, outside the heating season. Watch the price history for a dip before fall.
