Our take on the Dyonery 71" Convertible Futon Sofa Bed Linen

The Dyonery 71" Convertible Futon Sofa Bed is a split-back loveseat that folds flat into a full-size sleeper. Its two back halves recline independently, so one person can sit up while the other lies back. The wood frame and faux leather cover suit a guest room, studio or small living room. No current price was supplied for this page, so check the live comparison for where it sits against its recent range.

Best forStudio and small-apartment owners who need seating and a guest bed in one pieceShoppers who want a split-back so two people can set different recline anglesGuest rooms used a few nights a monthBuyers who prefer wipe-clean faux leather over fabric
Pros
  • Split back lets each side recline separately
  • Folds flat into a full-size sleeping surface
  • 71-inch width fits rooms where a full sofa will not
  • Faux leather wipes clean and resists spills
  • Wood frame is sturdier than all-foam futons
Cons
  • Faux leather can feel sticky in warm rooms and may peel over years
  • Futon mattresses are thin; most people want a topper for sleeping
  • 71-inch depth when flat eats floor space
  • Assembly is usually required and the frame is heavy
  • No storage under the seat

Questions and answers

Is it comfortable enough to sleep on every night?
Most owners treat it as an occasional bed. The mattress is thin, so a 2- to 3-inch topper makes a real difference for regular guests.
How does the split back work?
The back is two separate panels, each with its own recline positions. You can set one side flat and leave the other upright.
What size sheets fit it?
Folded flat it is a full-size sleeping surface, so standard full sheets fit. The 71-inch length is shorter than a standard full mattress, so tuck the ends.
Does it need assembly?
Yes. The frame, legs and back panels arrive unassembled. Two people can usually finish in about an hour with the included tools.
Is faux leather a good choice for pets and kids?
It wipes clean easily, which helps with spills and pet hair. Claws can puncture it, so keep the cover away from scratching.
When is the best time to buy?
Futons tend to drop during holiday sales and end-of-season furniture events. Set a price alert and compare across stores before buying.
