Questions and answers

Is this insert worth it at $89.95?
At $89.95 at eBay as of November 5, 2026, it is a low-cost way to add flame effects and some heat to a small room. Compare it with other 18 in. inserts only if you need more than 5,000 BTU or a larger viewing area.
What size opening does it fit?
The front and rear both measure 18.1 in. high and 19.2 in. wide, so the framed opening needs to be at least that size. Check the depth of your firebox before buying.
Does it need a vent or gas line?
No. It is ventless and runs on a standard 120 V plug, drawing 11.67 A at full heat.
Can I run the flames without heat?
Yes. The flame effect can run on its own, so you can use it in warm months without the 1,400 W heater.
How much space can it heat?
It is rated for about 400 sq ft at 5,000 BTU per hour. That suits a bedroom or den, not a large open living area.
When is it cheapest?
The best new price found is $89.95 at eBay as of November 5, 2026. Electric fireplace inserts often drop in fall and around holiday sales, so watch the price history.
