Is the HEMNES dresser worth it?

It is a solid-pine dresser at an IKEA price, which is rare at this size. It is worth it if you want real wood and will take the time to assemble and anchor it.

How does it compare with the MALM dresser?

The HEMNES is solid pine with a traditional look; the MALM is particleboard with a cleaner modern profile and often more depth. Choose HEMNES for wood and style, MALM for a lower price and simpler lines.

Does it need to be attached to the wall?

Yes. IKEA includes a wall-anchoring kit and the dresser is designed for anti-tip mounting. Anchor it in any home with children or pets.

What are the drawer dimensions?

Drawers are 15 3/4 inches deep inside. The unit is 108 cm wide and 131 cm tall, with about 9.2 cubic feet of total storage.

What is included in the box?

The dresser comes flat-packed with the frame, drawers, hardware, and a wall-anchoring kit. Knobs are included; assembly tools like a screwdriver are not.

When is the best time to buy?

IKEA runs periodic family and bedroom sales, and prices can drop during those events. Check the price history here before buying.

Our take on the IKEA HEMNES Dresser, white stain, 6 drawers

The HEMNES is IKEA's traditional solid-pine dresser, here in a white stain finish with six drawers and about 9.2 cubic feet of storage. It has smooth-running drawers with pull-out stops and a drawer interlock, plus a wall-anchoring kit and anti-tip design that meets the US federal stability standard. It is 108 cm wide and 131 cm tall, so it fits a bedroom wall without taking much floor space. No current store price was provided, so compare live listings before buying.
