Is the LUCID 6 inch mattress good for side sleepers?

Mostly no. With only 1 inch of memory foam, it gives little cushioning at the hips and shoulders. Side sleepers usually do better on a thicker LUCID model.

How long does it take to expand?

LUCID says 24 to 48 hours, and it expands faster in a warm room. It may not reach the full 6 inches in a cold room.

Does it work on a bunk bed or sofa bed?

Yes. The 6-inch profile is made for bunks, trundles and sofa beds, and the Twin size fits standard bunk frames.

For a guest, kid or bunk bed, yes. At $139.99 at Amazon as of November 4, 2026, it is near the bottom of its recent range, and it is not built for a decade of nightly adult use.

What comes in the box?

One compressed, rolled Twin mattress. No foundation, frame or box spring is included.

Does the gel keep it cool?

The gel infusion and ventilated foam help a little, but a 6-inch foam mattress still sleeps warmer than a hybrid or innerspring.

Our take on the LUCID 6 Inch Gel Memory Foam Mattress

The LUCID 6 Inch Gel Memory Foam Mattress is a thin, medium-firm all-foam mattress built for tight spaces: bunk beds, trundles, sofa beds, guest rooms and kids' rooms. It pairs 1 inch of gel- and bamboo-charcoal-infused ventilated memory foam with 5 inches of support foam, and ships compressed in a box that needs 24 to 48 hours to expand. At $139.99 for a Twin at Amazon as of November 4, 2026, it sits at the low end of its recent price range, with two stores pricing it new.
