Our take on the Mattress Insider Scarsdale Luxury RV Mattress 38x80 9 inch

The Scarsdale is a hybrid RV mattress from Mattress Insider that pairs gel-infused memory foam with individually wrapped coils, built to order in a 38x80 inch, 9-inch-thick size for camper and motorhome bunks. The quilted organic cotton cover and CertiPUR-US foams round out a spec list aimed at sleepers who want a conventional innerspring feel in a custom size. It is sold direct at $609 as of November 4, 2026, the only new price listed, so there is no competing store price to compare against. Custom sizing is the main draw; you are paying a made-to-order premium over a stock RV mattress.

Questions and answers

Is the Scarsdale worth $609?
If your bunk needs a custom size that stock mattresses do not cover, the made-to-order hybrid build justifies the price. If a standard 38x80 mattress fits, a mass-market RV mattress will cost less.
Will a 9-inch mattress fit my RV bunk?
Measure your bunk depth and any slide-out clearance first. Nine inches is thicker than many factory RV mattresses, so shallow bunks or fold-outs may not close properly.
How does it compare with an all-foam RV mattress?
The wrapped coils give more bounce and edge support than an all-foam mattress, while the gel memory foam top adds contouring. All-foam options are usually lighter and easier to bend into tight spaces.
Can I order a custom size?
Yes. Mattress Insider builds the Scarsdale to any size or shape, and 38x80 is one of the standard configurations.
What is in the box?
You get the mattress itself, made to order. Confirm with Mattress Insider whether a foundation or frame is included, since RV mattresses usually ship as the mattress only.
When is it cheapest?
There is one new price listed, $609 at Mattress Insider as of November 4, 2026. Watch for site-wide sales, since a single seller means discounts come from the brand rather than store competition.
Where is the Mattress Insider Scarsdale Luxury RV Mattress 38x80 9 inch cheapest?
At Mattress Insider, for $609.00, 44% off, as of our latest check.
What do buyers say about the Mattress Insider Scarsdale Luxury RV Mattress 38x80 9 inch?
