Is the PRS SE CE24 Standard Stoptail worth it?

At $478 at gear4music.com as of November 4, 2026, it is one of the cheaper ways into a 24-fret PRS with a fixed bridge. You get the PRS neck carve, coil-split humbuckers and a gig bag, with import-level hardware.

How is it different from the SE CE24 with a tremolo?

This Standard Stoptail model swaps the tremolo for a fixed PRS stoptail bridge with brass inserts, which means simpler tuning and setup but no whammy bar. The body is also all-mahogany with a satin finish rather than a maple top.

Can the pickups give single-coil sounds?

Yes. The push/pull tone control splits the 85/15 "S" humbuckers for brighter, snappier single-coil tones. It is a split, not a true single-coil, so expect a little less output than a Strat pickup.

What is included in the box?

The guitar ships with a PRS gig bag. No case, strap or cable is listed.

What are the neck and scale specs?

It has a bolt-on maple neck with a wide thin carve, a rosewood fretboard, 24 frets and a 25-inch scale. That is the same scale as other PRS CE models.

When is the best time to buy?

The current best new price is $478 at gear4music.com as of November 4, 2026. Watch for holiday and back-to-school sales, when import guitars often drop further.
