Reference 126231 is the Rolex Steel and Everose Gold Datejust 36. The Datejust introduced the self-winding wristwatch with a date window in 1945, and the date sits under the Cyclops lens at 3 o'clock. The 36mm case is made of Oystersteel and 18k Everose gold . Rolex has combined steel and gold this way since 1933 and calls it Rolesor.
Its slate Roman dial uses Roman numerals. It is framed by a fluted 18k Everose gold bezel. The watch is fitted with the three-piece-link Oyster bracelet.
It is powered by the self-winding Rolex caliber 3235 , with roughly 70 hours of power reserve. It is certified as a Superlative Chronometer, Rolex's standard of accuracy within −2/+2 seconds per day once cased. The screw-down crown and sapphire crystal keep it water resistant to 100 meters.
