Our take on the Silver Ticket STR-169120 4K Ultra HD Cinema Format Projector Screen

The Silver Ticket STR-169120 is a 100-inch fixed-frame front-projection screen with a 16:9 viewing area, built for home theaters where the screen stays mounted on a wall. It uses a tensioned matte white PVC surface on an aluminum frame, and the Cinema Format name refers to the 16:9 aspect ratio rather than a special coating. Fixed-frame screens like this give a flatter, more uniform image than pull-down or portable screens, at the cost of permanent wall space. It is a budget-tier screen, so expect a solid entry point rather than reference-grade performance.

Best forDedicated home theater rooms with a permanent wallFirst-time projector owners on a budget1080p and 4K front projectors in a dark roomBuyers who want a taut screen without a motorized mechanism
Pros
  • Tensioned surface stays flat and resists edge curl
  • Aluminum frame is rigid and assembles with basic tools
  • Matte white gain around 1.0 suits most projectors and viewing angles
  • 100-inch 16:9 size fits common room widths
  • Much cheaper than motorized or acoustically transparent screens
Cons
  • Fixed frame means no retracting; it occupies the wall permanently
  • Not acoustically transparent, so a center speaker behind it is blocked
  • Matte white surface gives modest contrast in rooms with ambient light
  • Assembly and wall mounting take two people and careful measuring
  • No motor, remote or screen masking for other aspect ratios

Questions and answers

Is this screen worth it over a cheap pull-down?
Yes, if the screen can stay on one wall. A fixed frame stays flat and avoids the waves and edge curl that plague budget pull-downs, which matters most for sharp 4K projection.
Does it work with a 4K projector?
Yes. The matte white surface resolves 4K detail fine; the limit is contrast in bright rooms, not resolution. Keep ambient light low for the best image.
What is in the box?
The screen material, aluminum frame pieces, tensioning hardware and mounting brackets. You supply the tools and wall anchors suited to your wall.
Is it acoustically transparent?
No. Speakers placed behind this screen will sound muffled, so plan for a center channel below or above it.
What size room does a 100-inch screen suit?
Roughly 10 to 12 feet of viewing distance for a comfortable 16:9 image. Closer seating makes the screen feel large and can reveal pixel structure on 1080p projectors.
When is it cheapest?
Fixed-frame screens from budget brands tend to dip during major sales events and at the end of the year. Track the price history before buying.
