Is this kit worth it over just buying better halogen bulbs?

If you want maximum brightness for about $30, yes. But quality halogen bulbs are legal, need no ballasts and last longer. HID in a halogen housing can glare and may fail inspection.

Only if your car uses 9005 bulbs. Newer cars often need a canceller cable or battery harness to avoid error codes or flicker, and those are not included.

Is 4300K a good color?

Yes. 4300K is daylight white with no blue tint, the closest to factory HID and the best choice for visibility in rain and dark roads.

Two 35W slim digital ballasts, two 4300K xenon bulbs, two plug-and-play harnesses, two mounting brackets and an installation manual.

It is a generic kit, not OEM-grade. Expect shorter bulb and ballast life than premium brands, and the two-year warranty covers defects only.

At $29.99 at Newegg.com as of November 5, 2026, it is already near the bottom of the HID kit market. Watch for small drops around holiday sales.
