Our take on the XtremeVision 35W HID Conversion Kit H1 H4 H7 H10 H11 H13 9005 9006 9007 Xenon

This is an aftermarket HID conversion kit that replaces a car's halogen bulbs with 35W xenon bulbs and slim ballasts. It is sold in many bulb sizes, and the version described here is H7 at 8000K, a medium blue light. XtremeVision claims 3X the brightness of halogen, 5X the lifespan and 35% less power draw. At $39.99 at Amazon as of November 5, 2026, it is a low-cost entry into HID lighting, and only one store lists it new.

Best forDrivers who want a blue-tinted HID look on a budgetOwners of cars with H7 halogen low beamsBuyers comfortable doing their own wiring and ballast mounting
Pros
  • 35W slim ballasts fit tighter spaces than older full-size ballasts
  • 8000K gives a strong blue tint that stands out from halogen
  • Claimed 35% lower power draw than equivalent halogen bulbs
  • Shockproof and waterproof ballast housing
  • Wide bulb-size coverage, including H7, H11, 9005 and 9006
Cons
  • 8000K blue light reduces usable output and hurts wet-road visibility
  • HID kits in halogen housings are illegal for road use in many US states
  • No mention of a wiring harness or relay, which some cars need
  • Ballasts and bulbs can fail; HID kits often need a warranty check
  • Blue glare can dazzle oncoming drivers and fail inspection

Questions and answers

Is 8000K too blue for everyday driving?
Yes, for most drivers. 8000K sits deep in the blue range, so it looks striking but puts less usable light on the road than 4300K-6000K kits, especially in rain.
Will this kit fit my car?
Only if your car uses the H7 bulb size and has room to mount the slim ballasts. Check your owner's manual or current bulb before ordering; the kit is sold in many other sizes.
Is an HID kit legal in halogen headlights?
In many US states, no. Dropping HID bulbs into a halogen reflector housing can fail inspection and is restricted or banned in several states, so check local rules first.
Do I need a relay harness?
Often yes. Some cars need a relay harness to power the ballasts reliably and avoid flicker or bulb-out warnings; the listing does not mention one in the box.
Is $39.99 a good price?
It is a low price for a 35W HID kit with slim ballasts, and only one store lists it new as of November 5, 2026. Compare against kits that include a harness and warranty before deciding.
How long do the bulbs last?
XtremeVision claims 5X the lifespan of halogen, but real-world HID kit life varies widely. Budget kits often need bulb replacement within a year or two.
