Questions and answers

Is the Zenith warm enough for freezing temperatures?
It carries a 0°F rating with 600-fill down and an insulated chest baffle, so it suits cold nights near or below freezing. Pair it with a good pad, since the bag's rating assumes insulation underneath.
How does it compare with a synthetic 0°F bag?
The down fill packs smaller and weighs less than most synthetic bags at the same rating, around 3 lbs 6 oz in Long. Synthetic bags handle wet conditions better and cost less to replace if soaked.
How much does the Long size weigh and how big is it?
The Long weighs 3 lbs 6 oz and measures 86 inches long by 32 inches wide. The Regular is shorter and lighter.
Does it come with a stuff sack?
Yes, a stuff sack is included. The hydrophobic down tolerates damp better than untreated down, but store the bag loose and dry between trips.
Is $121.67 a good price for this bag?
That is a low price for a 0°F down mummy bag and close to the cheapest it has been. Three stores list it new, so compare before buying.
Who is this bag not for?
Ultralight thru-hikers will find 3 lbs 6 oz heavy, and warm-weather campers can save weight and money with a higher-rated bag.
Where is the ALPS Mountaineering Zenith Sleeping Bag cheapest?
