Is the Studio S a good soaking tub?

Yes, if you want depth over jets. It holds 80 gallons with a 17-3/4 in. soak depth and has lumbar support, so an adult can soak up to the shoulders.

What size opening does it need?

Plan for a 72 in. by 36 in. drop-in opening. The tub itself is listed at 66 in. by 36 in. by 22-1/2 in. in the specs, so confirm the cutout dimensions before framing.

Does it come with a drain or faucet?

No. The drain and faucet are sold separately. The drain opening is about 2.13 in. and the drain is reversible, so it can go at either end.

How does it compare with a freestanding tub?

A drop-in like this sits flush in a deck and is usually cheaper and easier to seal than a freestanding tub. Freestanding models free up floor space but cost more and need a floor-mounted or wall supply.

Is acrylic durable enough?

Fiberglass-reinforced acrylic is standard for tubs at this price. It resists chips better than plain acrylic but can scratch, so use non-abrasive cleaners and a mat if you are rough on surfaces.

The best new price is $1,269.45 at Home Depot as of November 6, 2026. Bathroom fixtures often drop during holiday sales, so compare both stores before ordering.
