Our take on the Balsam Hill Berkshire Mountain Fir Artificial Christmas Tree

The Balsam Hill Berkshire Mountain Fir is an artificial Christmas tree with pre-strung white lights, built to mimic the layered look of a real fir. It is one of Balsam Hill's more natural-looking designs, with a mix of branch textures and a full silhouette. It suits households that want a reusable tree with lights already attached. Shoppers comparing prices should check the current best price against its usual seasonal range, since artificial trees swing widely between early fall and December.

Best forFamilies who want a pre-lit tree without stringing lightsBuyers who prefer a natural, less uniform fir shapeHouseholds reusing one tree for many seasonsPeople who want white lights rather than multicolor
Pros
  • Pre-strung white lights save setup time
  • Fir-style branching gives a fuller, more natural look
  • Reusable across seasons, unlike a cut tree
  • Balsam Hill's tree lineup is widely known for dense foliage
Cons
  • Artificial trees cost more upfront than a cut tree
  • Bulky to store and heavy to move in larger heights
  • White lights limit the look if you want color
  • Pre-lit models mean a failed strand can be a hassle to fix

Questions and answers

Is the Berkshire Mountain Fir worth it over a cheaper artificial tree?
It costs more than budget trees, but buyers pay for denser foliage and a more natural fir shape. If realism matters to you, it is a reasonable step up; if you only need something green in the corner, a cheaper tree will do.
How does it compare with Balsam Hill's other firs?
The Berkshire Mountain Fir leans toward a natural, layered look rather than a perfectly uniform silhouette. Other Balsam Hill firs tend to be either more symmetrical or more sparse, so pick based on how natural you want it to look.
Does it come with lights already on it?
Yes, this version is pre-lit with white lights. Check the listing for the height and light count you are buying, since those vary by size.
What sizes does it come in?
Balsam Hill typically offers this tree in several heights, from around 6 feet up to 9 feet or more. Confirm the height and width for the specific listing before buying.
When is the cheapest time to buy it?
Artificial trees usually drop in price during early fall promotions and again after Christmas. Waiting until late December or January often gets the lowest price, though stock is thinner.
Is it hard to assemble?
Assembly is straightforward, but shaping the branches takes the most time. Plan on 30 to 60 minutes for a full fluff, more for larger sizes.
What do buyers say about the Balsam Hill Berkshire Mountain Fir Artificial Christmas Tree?
