Our take on the Balsam Hill Vermont White Spruce Artificial Christmas Tree

The Vermont White Spruce is Balsam Hill's natural-cone artificial Christmas tree, built from a mix of PVC and PE molded tips for a fuller, more realistic look than all-PVC trees. It comes in 4.5, 5.5, 6.5 and 7.5 ft heights, in full, narrow and wide widths, with options for clear LED lights, Twinkly light shows, Easy Plug wiring and a Flip Tree setup. The best new price is $449 at Balsam Hill as of November 5, 2026, and it is the only store pricing it new. That sits at the top of the brand's mid-range tree lineup, so it is a buy for shoppers who want realism and light features and are willing to pay for them.

Best forShoppers who want a realistic-looking tree without watering or needlesHouseholds that want pre-lit LED or app-controlled Twinkly lightsBuyers with a specific space who need narrow or wide widthsPeople who want a tree that packs away and reassembles for years
Pros
  • PE molded tips give a more natural look than all-PVC trees
  • Four heights and three widths cover small rooms to large living rooms
  • Pre-lit LED options with Twinkly light-show control
  • Easy Plug and Flip Tree setups cut assembly time
  • Clear LED lights are energy-efficient and long-lasting
Cons
  • $449 is a premium price for an artificial tree
  • Plug-in only, so you need an outlet near the tree
  • Twinkly and Flip Tree features add cost over the base model
  • PE and PVC construction is heavy and bulky to store
  • Light counts and features vary by height and option, so check the exact SKU

Questions and answers

Is the Vermont White Spruce worth $449?
It is worth it if realism and pre-lit convenience matter more than price. If you just need a basic tree, a cheaper all-PVC model will do the job.
How is it different from Balsam Hill's other spruces?
The Vermont has a natural cone shape and a mix of PVC and PE tips. Other Balsam Hill spruces differ in tip count, shape and light options, so compare the exact height and width you need.
Do I need an outlet near the tree?
Yes. The lights are plug-in, so plan for a socket within reach of the tree or use an extension cord.
What comes in the box?
You get the tree sections, the stand and the light strings for the pre-lit option. Storage bags are usually sold separately, so check the listing for your chosen size.
When is it cheapest?
Balsam Hill discounts trees most around early fall and Black Friday. The current best new price is $449 at Balsam Hill as of November 5, 2026.
