Pros

  • Twinkly Light Show adds app control for colors and patterns
  • 6.5 ft height suits standard 8-foot ceilings
  • Fraser Fir shape is narrow enough for corners and entryways
Cons
  • $649.00 at Balsam Hill as of November 5, 2026 is a premium price for a 6.5-foot tree
  • 54-inch width needs a wide space and a large storage bag
  • Twinkly features depend on the app and a stable Wi-Fi connection
  • Heavy and awkward to assemble alone; setup takes time each year

Questions and answers

Is the BH Fraser Fir worth $649?
At $649.00 at Balsam Hill as of November 5, 2026, you pay for realistic tips and built-in Twinkly lights. If you want a tree that looks good up close and lasts many seasons, it is reasonable. If you just need lights on a cone, cheaper trees do the job.
How does it compare with Balsam Hill's Vermont White Spruce?
The Fraser Fir has denser, softer True Needle foliage and a fuller 54-inch spread. The Vermont White Spruce has a more open, sparser look with stiffer branches. Pick the Fraser Fir for a classic full tree.
Do I need the Twinkly app to use the lights?
No. The 1,100 LEDs work with the included controller and Easy Plug connection. The app is only needed for custom colors, patterns and schedules.
What comes in the box?
The tree ships in sections with the lights pre-attached, plus a stand and a storage bag. Fluffing the branches takes about an hour the first year.
