Is the Donner DDP-95 worth it for a beginner?

Yes, if your budget is tight and you want weighted keys and pedals in one cabinet. It covers the first few years of lessons, though serious players will eventually want a better action and piano sound.

How does it compare with a Yamaha or Roland console piano?

It costs far less and gives you the same 88 weighted keys and three pedals. The trade-off is a less refined action and less realistic piano samples than entry models from Yamaha, Roland or Kawai.

Does it work with piano learning apps?

Yes. It supports Bluetooth MIDI and USB-MIDI, so apps like Simply Piano or Flowkey can receive your playing. A USB cable to a computer or tablet also works.

Can I use headphones?

Yes, there is a single 1/4-inch headphone jack. Plugging in mutes the speakers, which suits quiet practice.

You get the piano, the stand and three-pedal unit, a power adapter and a bench in most bundles. Check the specific listing, since bundle contents vary.

When is the best time to buy it?

Donner discounts heavily around Black Friday, Prime Day and back-to-school season. Watch the price history and buy when it drops below its usual street price.

Our take on the Donner DDP-95 88-Key Weighted Digital Piano

The Donner DDP-95 is a full-size 88-key digital piano with weighted, hammer-action keys and a built-in furniture stand with three pedals. It packs 610 tones, 600 rhythms, 128-note polyphony and 16 touch levels, plus USB-MIDI and Bluetooth MIDI for apps and recording. Two 15W speakers and a 1/4-inch headphone jack cover practice at home. It sits in Donner's budget tier, well below name-brand console pianos, so its price is low for a weighted 88-key cabinet model.
