Is the Garvee 52cc chainsaw worth it?

For a homeowner cutting firewood a few times a year, a 52cc, 20-inch gas saw at a low price is reasonable value. If you cut weekly or need dealer service, a name-brand pro saw is the safer buy.

Can I buy this chainsaw in California?

No. The listing states it is not CARB-compliant, so it cannot legally be sold or registered for use in California. Check your state's rules before ordering.

What fuel mix does it take?

It is a 2-cycle engine, so it runs on gasoline mixed with two-stroke oil, typically at 40:1 or 50:1 per the manual. Never run it on straight gas.

What chain does the 20-inch bar use?

It uses a semi-skip, semi-chisel chain. Match the pitch, gauge and drive-link count from the bar stamp when replacing it.

How does it compare with a battery chainsaw?

It has more sustained power for big cuts and no runtime limit, but it is louder, heavier and needs fuel mixing. A battery saw suits light trimming near the house better.

When is the price lowest?

Gas chainsaws tend to drop in fall clearance and pre-spring sales. Check the price history chart to see whether the current price sits near its low.
