Our take on the Greenworks 24V 13 in. Brushless Cordless String Trimmer Kit

The Greenworks 24V 13 in. Brushless Cordless String Trimmer Kit is a lightweight straight-shaft trimmer built for small yards and quick edge work. The brushless motor and 13-inch cut path put it in line with other 24V homeowner trimmers, and at 5.5 lb it is easy to carry for a full session. Its best new price is $109.99 at Walmart as of November 4, 2026, with only one store listing it new, so there is little price competition to compare against.

Pros
  • Brushless motor for longer runtime and motor life
  • Light at 5.5 lb with a straight shaft
  • 13-inch cut width covers edges and small lawns
  • 24V battery works across other Greenworks 24V tools
  • Kit includes battery and charger, so it runs out of the box
Cons
  • 24V power is modest for thick weeds and tall grass
  • Only one store lists it new, so price shopping is limited
  • 13-inch cut is narrower than 15- and 16-inch gas trimmers
  • Battery runtime is short on high-demand cutting

Questions and answers

Is the Greenworks 24V trimmer worth it?
For small yards and light trimming, yes. At $109.99 at Walmart as of November 4, 2026, it is a reasonable kit price with battery and charger included. If you cut tall, thick weeds regularly, a higher-voltage trimmer will serve you better.
How does it compare with a 40V or 80V trimmer?
The 24V motor is lighter and cheaper but has less torque. A 40V or 80V Greenworks trimmer cuts heavier growth faster and runs longer per charge, at higher weight and price.
How long does the battery last?
Expect roughly 20 to 30 minutes of light trimming per charge, less in thick grass. Runtime depends on the battery included and how often you trigger the motor.
Does the kit include a battery and charger?
Yes. The kit ships with a 24V battery and charger, so no separate purchase is needed to start. Confirm the battery capacity on the listing, since kit contents vary by SKU.
What line size does it take?
It uses standard 0.065-inch trimmer line on a bump-feed head. Thicker line is not recommended for this 24V motor.
When is it cheapest?
Greenworks trimmers usually drop around spring lawn-care sales and end-of-season clearance. With only one store listing it new at $109.99 as of November 4, 2026, watch for a second seller to appear and undercut it.
Where is the Greenworks 24V 13 in. Brushless Cordless String Trimmer Kit cheapest?
At Walmart, for $109.99, as of our latest check.
What do buyers say about the Greenworks 24V 13 in. Brushless Cordless String Trimmer Kit?
