Our take on the Joystone 1/14 RC Car 4WD Off-Road RC Truck with 2 Batteries & 2 Shells

The Joystone 1/14 RC Car is a hobby-grade 4WD off-road truck powered by a LiPo battery, sold with two batteries and two body shells. The 1/14 scale is smaller than 1/10 bashers, so it suits yards, parks and light dirt rather than rough terrain. At $79.97 at Walmart as of November 4, 2026, it is the only new price listed, so there is no recent range to compare against. The two-battery bundle is the main draw: it roughly doubles run time before you need a charger.

Pros
  • Two LiPo batteries included, so longer sessions between charges
  • Two body shells, one to run and one to keep clean
  • 4WD traction for grass, dirt and gravel
  • 1/14 scale is easy to store and carry
  • Around $80 is low for a 4WD LiPo truck with spares
Cons
  • Small scale handles rough ground worse than 1/10 trucks
  • Only one store lists it new, so price competition is thin
  • Spare parts support is limited compared with big RC brands
  • LiPo packs need proper charging and storage care
  • Included charger and radio are usually basic at this price

Questions and answers

Is the Joystone 1/14 RC car worth it at $79.97?
At $79.97 at Walmart as of November 4, 2026, it is a fair price for a 4WD LiPo truck with two batteries and two shells. It makes sense as a first hobby truck. It is not a substitute for a $200-plus basher.
How long does the battery last?
Run time depends on the surface and throttle, but expect roughly 15 to 25 minutes per LiPo pack. Two packs are included, so a session can run about twice that before recharging.
Is it good for kids?
Yes for older kids and teens, since 4WD and LiPo power make it fast enough to need some care. Younger children should have an adult supervise charging and driving.
What is in the box?
The truck, two LiPo batteries, two body shells, a radio transmitter and a charger. Check the listing for the exact charger type before buying.
Can it drive on grass?
Short, dry grass is fine. Tall or wet grass will bog down a 1/14 truck, and the motor will run hot.
When is it cheapest?
Only one new price is listed, $79.97 at Walmart as of November 4, 2026. Watch for holiday sales, when RC toys usually drop.
Where is the Joystone 1/14 RC Car 4WD Off-Road RC Truck with 2 Batteries & 2 Shells cheapest?
At Walmart, for $79.97, as of our latest check.
What do buyers say about the Joystone 1/14 RC Car 4WD Off-Road RC Truck with 2 Batteries & 2 Shells?
Rated 4.1 out of 5 from 109 ratings.
