Questions and answers

Is the PowerSmart 22-inch mower worth it?

At $369.99 at Lowe's as of November 5, 2026, it is one of the cheaper self-propelled gas mowers at this size. It makes sense for a small, level lawn where you want gas power without a big spend. If you need dealer service or long-term reliability, a major brand costs more but is safer.

How does it compare with a Honda or Toro self-propelled mower?

Those brands cost more but have wider dealer networks, more proven engines and better parts availability. The PowerSmart matches them on deck size and basic self-propelled drive. It trails on build quality and service.

What engine and deck does it have?

It has a 170cc gas engine and a 22-inch rotary deck. That is a common size for walk-behind mowers and suits lawns up to about a quarter acre.

Does it come with a grass bag?

PowerSmart mowers of this type typically ship with a side-discharge chute, and some versions include a rear bag. Check the box contents on the Lowe's listing before buying if bagging matters to you.

When is it cheapest?

There is only one new listing, $369.99 at Lowe's as of November 5, 2026, so there is no price history to time a purchase. Mowers usually see the best discounts in late fall and early spring.

Where is the PowerSmart 22" 170cc Gas Self-Propelled Lawn Mower cheapest?
