Is the Real Flame Foster worth it?

It is a reasonable pick if you want a stove-style focal point without venting or gas. At $444.99 at Wayfair as of November 4, 2026, it is at the high end of its recent range, so compare the other four stores before buying.

How much space will it actually heat?

Real Flame rates it for up to 1,000 sq ft at 4,700 BTUs, which is realistic for a well-insulated room as supplemental heat. It will not carry a whole floor in cold weather.

Can I run the flames without the heat?

Yes. The flame effect works on its own, so you can use it in summer without the fan heater.

Does it come with a remote?

No. Controls are on the unit, with a thermostat and a timer adjustable from 10 minutes to 9 hours.

What assembly is required?

You attach the feet and the stove pipe. The unit ships at 58 lbs, so plan for two people.

Is it safe to leave on?

It has automatic shut-off and overheat protection, and the timer lets you cap run time. It draws 11.7 amps at 1,400W, so avoid sharing the circuit with other high-draw appliances.
