The Sonor AQ2 Stage Maple is an all-maple acoustic shell pack with a 22-inch bass drum, two rack toms, a floor tom and a snare. Maple shells give it a warm, full tone with a controlled attack that suits rock, pop and cover-band work. The Stage configuration is the larger of the AQ2 sizes, aimed at drummers who want a big bass drum and a standard five-piece layout. As of November 7, 2026, the best new price is $1,449 at Guitar Center, with four stores listing it new.

Owners of the AQ2 line generally praise the maple shells for their warm, punchy sound and the solid build. Many say the kit tunes easily and holds tuning through gigs. Complaints center on the lack of included hardware and the cost of upgrading heads and cymbals.
