Our take on the The Futon Shop Organic Latex Wool Mattress Topper

This is a 2-inch Twin mattress topper from The Futon Shop built on GOLS-certified organic Dunlop latex with an organic wool cover. It is handcrafted and sold with a choice of soft or medium firmness, so you pick the feel rather than accepting one. It suits shoppers who want to soften a too-firm mattress with natural materials. No current price was available to compare against its recent range.

Cons
  • Latex is heavy and awkward to move on a Twin
  • Wool cover needs care; check washing instructions before buying
  • Only 2 inches, so it will not fix a sagging or worn mattress

Questions and answers

Is this topper worth it?
If you want to soften a firm mattress with certified organic latex and wool, it is a reasonable pick. If your mattress sags or is worn out, a 2-inch topper will not fix it.
Should I choose soft or medium?
Choose soft to add cushioning to an already supportive mattress. Choose medium if you want a firmer feel or weigh more. Side sleepers usually prefer soft.
How does Dunlop latex compare with Talalay?
Dunlop is denser and firmer, with a more supportive feel. Talalay is springier and more uniform. This topper uses Dunlop.
Will it make my bed too hot?
Latex and wool both breathe better than memory foam, and most owners report it sleeps cool. A mattress protector can reduce airflow.
How do I clean the wool cover?
Spot clean and air it out rather than machine washing. Check the care tag before buying, since wool can shrink.
When is it cheapest?
Watch for sitewide sales around holidays and clearance on Twin sizes. No current price was available to compare.
