Our take on the Jonathan Charles Tribeca Marble Topped Baroque Gilded Console

The Jonathan Charles Tribeca console is a 67-inch-wide baroque-style table with a gilded carved base and a marble top. At 15.75 inches deep and 35.5 inches tall, it is built as a hallway or dining-room statement piece rather than a working desk. It weighs about 159 lb, so plan for two people and a reinforced spot against a wall. No current price or recent price range was provided, so check the latest quote from each store before deciding.

Questions and answers

Is the Tribeca console worth it?
It depends on the room. If you want a large, carved gilded console with a real marble top as a focal point, it delivers that. If you need storage or a working surface, a simpler console with drawers will serve you better for less.
How does it compare with a plain marble console?
A plain console costs less and fits modern rooms. The Tribeca adds hand-carved baroque detailing and a gilded finish, which is the main reason to pay more. The marble top and overall footprint are similar to other 67-inch consoles.
How big is it, and will it fit my hallway?
It is 67 inches wide, 15.75 inches deep and 35.5 inches tall. Measure your wall and leave clearance for door swings; the shallow depth means it hugs the wall but holds little more than a lamp and a tray.
Does the marble top need sealing?
Most marble tops benefit from a penetrating sealer, reapplied every few months. Wipe spills quickly and avoid vinegar, lemon and other acidic cleaners, which etch the surface.
What is in the box?
Expect the console base and the marble top, usually packed separately. Check the listing for assembly hardware and whether the top is already attached; with a piece this heavy, confirm delivery and placement terms with the store.
When is it cheapest?
High-end furniture like this tends to discount during seasonal sales and floor-sample clearances. Compare prices across stores and watch the price history rather than buying on the first quote.
