Malibu Home Coronado Rectangle Bathtub 72"x36"

Our take on the Malibu Home Coronado Rectangle Bathtub 72"x36"

The Coronado is a 72-by-36-inch drop-in bathtub from Malibu Home, built in acrylic with a jetted whirlpool system. Its size suits two-person soaks and large bathrooms where a standard 60-inch tub feels cramped. Acrylic keeps the weight down compared with cast iron, so a standard floor usually handles it. The best new price is $1,655.78 at Malibu Home as of November 6, 2026, with only one store listing it new, so there is little price competition to shop around.

Questions and answers

Is the Coronado big enough for two people?

At 72 by 36 inches it is one of the larger standard rectangles, so two adults can soak side by side. Check your alcove and deck space before ordering.

Does it come with a faucet and drain?

Drop-in tubs like this are typically sold as the shell and jet system only. Plan on buying the filler, drain and overflow separately unless the listing says otherwise.

How much does a jetted acrylic tub weigh?

Acrylic shells are far lighter than cast iron, but a filled 72-inch tub plus water and bathers still runs well over 800 pounds. Have the floor checked before installation.

What does the jet system need?

Whirlpool tubs need a dedicated power circuit for the pump and access panels so the pump and plumbing can be serviced. Confirm both with your installer.

Is $1,655.78 a good price?

It is the only new price we found, listed at Malibu Home as of November 6, 2026. With one seller there is no lower competing price to compare against.

Where is the Malibu Home Coronado Rectangle Bathtub 72"x36" cheapest?

At Malibu Home, for $1,655.78, as of our latest check.
