The Yamaha Rydeen is a 5-piece acoustic shell pack with poplar shells, a 22" bass drum, 10" and 12" rack toms, a 14" floor tom and a 14" snare. It is aimed at newer and younger drummers, and its main draw is genuine Yamaha tom mounts and bass hardware at an entry-level price. The shells are poplar, which keeps cost down but gives a softer, less projecting tone than birch or maple. At $519.99 at Walmart as of November 7, 2026, it sits at the low end of its recent range across the 5 stores that price it new.

Owner feedback on the Rydeen is limited, but what exists centers on solid hardware and easy setup for the money. Players note the poplar shells sound decent but not premium, and most treat it as a first kit rather than a gigging set.
