Is the Garvee Gas Chainsaw worth it?

It is a reasonable pick if you want 50 cc-class power at a low price and will do your own maintenance. If you want dealer service and proven long-term parts support, a name brand costs more but is safer.

How does 52 cc compare with a 45 cc saw?

The extra displacement gives more torque, so it holds speed better in hardwood and longer bars. It also weighs more and uses more fuel, which matters if you mostly cut small limbs.

What fuel mix does it need?

Two-stroke gas saws of this size typically run on a 40:1 or 50:1 gas-to-oil mix; confirm the ratio in the manual before fueling. Never run it on straight gasoline.

What bar and chain does it take?

It uses a 16-inch bar, but the chain pitch and gauge are not stated here. Match the replacement chain to the numbers stamped on the bar before buying.

What comes in the box?

Expect the saw, bar and chain, plus a tool kit and manual; the exact contents are not confirmed. Check that a bar scabbard and mixing bottle are included if you need them.

Gas saws usually drop in late fall and winter, outside the spring and summer cutting season. Compare the current price against its price history before buying.

Our take on the Garvee Gas Chainsaw

The Garvee Gas Chainsaw is a 52 cc two-stroke gas saw with a 16-inch straight bar and an anti-vibration system, sold under a budget-focused house brand. The 52 cc engine is larger than most 16-inch homeowner saws, which should give it more torque in thick wood than a typical 40–45 cc model. It is a gas saw, so it needs premix fuel, a pull start and regular carburetor and air-filter care.
