Is the Nord Stage 3 76HP worth it?

If you need piano, organ and synth in one light board for gigging, it covers all three well. If you mostly play solo piano at home, a dedicated digital piano gives a better action for less money.

How does the 76HP keybed compare to the 88-key Stage 3?

The 88 uses a full weighted hammer action; the 76HP uses Nord's Hammer Action Portable, which is weighted but lighter and shorter in throw. The HP is easier to carry; the 88 feels closer to an acoustic piano.

How heavy is it and what case fits?

It is designed as a portable stage board, so a soft gig bag or lightweight hard case in the 76-key size works. Check the internal dimensions against the keyboard's width and depth before buying a case.

Can it store my own samples and pianos?

Yes. It has 2GB of memory for the Nord Piano Library and supports the Nord Sample Library 3.0, so you can load additional pianos and samples from Nord's library.

Expect the keyboard, a power cable and documentation. A sustain pedal, stand and case are usually sold separately, so confirm with the seller.

Our take on the Nord Stage 3 76HP 76-Key Stage Keyboard

The Nord Stage 3 76HP is a 76-key stage keyboard combining three sound engines: a piano section with 2GB of memory for the Nord Piano Library, the Nord C2D organ engine, and the Nord Lead A1 synth engine with sample playback. Its Hammer Action Portable keybed is weighted but built to keep the board light enough to carry to gigs. Two independent instrument slots per section let you layer two pianos, two organs and two synths at once, with hands-on effects controls and an OLED display. The best new price is $175 at Crossfire Pro AV Rentals as of November 4, 2026, which is far below what this model normally sells for new.

What reviewers say

The Stage 3 line is well regarded by gigging players for its sound quality and portability, and the 76HP version is a common choice for players who want weighted keys in a lighter board. Owners often praise the pianos and organs and the live-friendly layout.

Piano and organ sounds hold up on stage
Light enough for one-person load-in
Layers and splits are quick to set up live
Build quality and red chassis feel road-ready

Cons

Price and add-on costs are high
Some players find the synth section less immediate than dedicated synths
